Im not really techie and the bill we pay for the tech company that handles all our network is really expensive. We are planning to outsource. Do you think its a good option?

Following these steps you don't have control over your work. If you would like to change something you'll have to get in contact again with people and pay them to make a change to your website, design, etc.

I like to invest in myself, and know everything I need to know so I can't have problems, and when I have I'll be able to handle them.

I don't know about you but I like to be in total control.

In this day and age, I feel that online marketing is an excellent way to "get one's message out." I completely agree with you that, if someone is too intimidated to get the technology up and running on his or her own, then turning to the "experts" is an absolute necessity. It's just smart business!

It's worth having a look at XSitePro for building websites. Still a bit of a learning curve, but with a bit of practice you can make good looking websites.

I'd go with Hostgator for hosting, been with them for two years, a few minor problems, quickly resolved

Thanks for the feedback Luc and good that you agree with my article.

Personally, as a certified control freak, I hate outsourcing because it means I lose control, but it's a lesson I'm very happy to learn.

I can waste whole days trying to get a website built which effectively makes me nothing, or pay a freelancer $200 to do it for me while I use the day to make $500 doing what I do best. It just makes sense to have people work on what you're not good at.

Hey Yaro,

Again i would say that you've written another good article outlining some great steps for someone to get a website built. I used to do this for people so i know the problems with finding good help for web projects. I once hired a web developer to program on a project that i was over-seeing, a very smart guy out of the Ukraine, anyways he became very unreasonable to work with and we had to part ways, still got the project done in time and "saved the day" but i gotta tell you those are some of the best learning experiences i've got... nothing like learning first hand.

I am currently developing a commerce solutions company and i at least know how to hire and keep the best help around me. Afterall you've got to hire the best people to work with you. Anyways talk soon
