How can I use promotional products to grow my business?

For any business and advertising plan that you have, one of the best ways to promote your business is to hand out free gifts to the general public so that they will remember you and hopefully use your products and recommend you to their friends. Now promotional products can range from a myriad of things, some companies will get t-shirts or clothing of some sort made with their company logo on them. I’m sure that you have all been to a bank and been give a pen by the bank that has been branded especially for them with their main contact details on them.

They can also range from balloons, books and pretty much anything you can think of to create and put your company name on and hand out as a promotional product or item. So if you are thinking of what to do for your promotion, you need to start brainstorming a few ideas.

One of the first things that you need to consider is what kind of object you want to be giving away. Now this obviously depends on your budget, so if you are a small company and can’t afford to give out brand new cars with your new name on it then price is probably going to be a big factor for you. Another thing that you really want to consider is relevance. So you want to be able to give a product away that will in some way be connected to your business or the products or services that you offer your clients.

You also want to make sure that whatever you are giving away doesn’t negatively impact or relate to your business. So for example if your company deals with children, then you don’t want to be giving away bottle cap openers or something that implies alcohol because these two are generally not compatible. So hence, you have to be really careful when you are thinking of the kind of object that you would like to give away. Once you have thought of the product you can actually choose from a range of things such as price, size and relevance. You can then have your name or logo printed onto the product.

Now your logo or company name has to be extremely visible and easy to read off the product that you have decided on. So for example if you are thinking of getting a t-shirt done, then don’t just think of the emblem in the top right corner near you shoulder, look into how you can use the entire t-shirt to advertise your brand and your company as a whole. Also, in most cases, the cost of printing a tiny emblem on the shirt is generally the same as printing on the entire shirt so it is important to make full use of the product that you have.

The final thing that you need to consider when getting your product implemented is time. How long do you want the promotional product to be used for or how long do you want to be using this promotional product for? So for example, if the product can be used by the person for a long period of time, or be re-used time and time again, then obviously you are getting a better return for your investment. However, its not as cost effective if the product is just used once and then discarded. So for example, a balloon would not be the best idea because it can pop and be discarded of almost instantaneously. On the other hand, something like a t-shirt can be worn for a long time to come and be remembered so hence, creating a longer lasting memory in your clients mind.
